Method
- Pour 500 ml warm water into a Glass Trigger Spray Bottle, then add 1½ tbsp Organic Castile Soap.
- Add 5–10 drops of 100% Pure Essential Oils if you like, and swirl gently to mix.
- Make sure the hob is completely cool, then spray it and leave for 1–2 minutes.
- Wipe with a damp Premium Microfibre Cloth, rinsing the cloth as you go.
- On glass and induction hobs, buff dry with a clean, dry cloth for a streak-free finish.
Glass, ceramic and induction hobs, gas hob tops and pan supports, electric hobs, cooker splashbacks and control knobs.
Most hob mess is cooking grease with food stuck in it. Soap molecules grab the grease with one end and water with the other, so the grease lifts off into your cloth instead of smearing.
Leaving the spray for a minute or two gives it time to soften dried splashes, so you need less scrubbing.
A hot hob: Always let the hob cool first. Spray on a hot surface dries instantly, smears and can burn your hand.
Burnt-on spills on glass: Don’t scrub glass hobs with anything gritty. Lay a cloth soaked in hot soapy water over the spot for 15 minutes, then wipe or use a hob scraper held flat.
Vinegar: Don’t add vinegar to this spray. It curdles Castile Soap.
Use within a month. Shake gently before each use.
Store in a cool, dark place, out of reach of children and pets.
Castile Soap is gentle, but keep it away from your eyes. If you have sensitive skin, wear gloves.
Leave the Essential Oils out if you have cats.

B&M Pro-Tip 1:
Add Essential Oils last, shake well and stick to the drops we suggest. Too much oil can turn a Castile Soap mix cloudy or even make it curdle. Want more scent? Enjoy your oils separately in an oil burner.

B&M Pro-Tip 2:
Gas hob? Lift off the pan supports and burner caps once a month and soak them like our Oven Rack Soak (not if they’re aluminium).
Quick questions
Will it leave streaks on my glass hob?
Not if you buff dry with a clean microfibre cloth. Streaks come from too much soap or from drying on a warm hob.
Can I use it on a stainless steel hob?
Yes. Wipe in the direction of the grain and dry afterwards.
What about really burnt-on food?
Soak it under a hot, soapy cloth for 15 minutes first, then wipe. On glass, a hob scraper held flat lifts the rest.
